  • What types of companies do you work with?

    We work with companies of all sizes, from the Fortune 500 to fast-paced start-ups, in a wide variety of industries.

  • In what types of positions can you place students?

    We place students in a an extensive range of positions.

  • Are you open to working with all types of students?

    We are committed to diversity in all its forms, including international and differently-abled students. Our main requirement is that a student have good grades and an even better attitude.

  • What is your screening process for students?

    Students either respond to postings we've placed at colleges, or they apply directly through the Brill Street website (www.brillstreet.com). The applications are fed into our proprietary database, and our Talent Manager team is notified via email that we've received an application. The students are phone screened within 48 hours by a member of the Talent Manager team, and those that prove a high level of ambition and motivation are brought into the office for a personal interview. They bring a transcript from their school, and references that we can check after the screening process is completed. From there, we match their skill sets, school experience, and areas of interest to a part or full time assignment with one of our customers.

  • How do you match students to opportunities.

    Each student is assigned a Brill Street Talent Manager, who gets to know a student's goals, skills, educational background and personality. Using that knowledge, we work to match each student's talents to client opportunities where they will find the best application and growth.

  • How long does it take to place a student in an assignment?

    Timing varies, but we can generally place students within a month.

  • Do you only deal with summer internships?

    No, we place students year-round, in both internships and short-term projects.

  • Are your internships paid or unpaid?

    All Brill Street assignments are paid – we provide companies with real talent, and that has real value.

  • How are students paid?

    Students are compensated at a completive hourly rate, and are paid directly by Brill Street.

  • How do you ensure that students are in a good working environment, and are not overwhelmed by work?

    For students with little experience but lots of intelligence, enthusiasm and potential, they jump at the chance to perform any project that's valued by the client–and get paid for it. Some work that may be considered mundane by a professional is actually very exciting to a student with little or no prior work experience. We also have students that need to work their way through school, and this opportunity provides professional experience and allows them to obtain a degree. We consider a multitude of factors when making our placements, including the type of work, the culture of the work environment, the reputation of the client company, and the amount of work to be completed in the timeframe allowed. We are also very clear that we work with students, and students have classes and study schedules that need to be respected.

  • Do we have to pay a fee to use your services?

    While we do not charge a fee for the service itself, we do charge an hourly rate for each hour the student works on assignment, which ranges depending on the skill set and timeframe needed for the assignment. There is also an opportunity for the student to be hired directly by our clients, which can be done with a nominal fee, or with no charge after the client has met the hours billed by Brill Street as outlined in our agreement.

  • How are you any different than a typical staffing agency?

    Two words: real talent. Brill Street isn't in the business of simply filling positions. We specialize in matching a student's true talents with specific client needs – a unique approach that produces much more gratifying results for all concerned.

  • What's your process for working with colleges?

    Brill Street Talent Managers work closely with Career Services offices of colleges, but also branch out into contact with faculty members and student organizations. Our school partners have embraced Brill Street, using us to expand their ability to reach students for talent management, and to find real work experience.

  • Can you help us with job placement for new and recent graduates?

    Yes. Because of our track record in providing higher quality interns, companies started asking us to help with full-time hires – and now we offer that as one of our key services.
