  • On-Going, On-Demand Staffing — Medical Equipment

    The situation:

A medical equipment provider, with multiple product lines, has recurrent but not constant marketing needs, and serves them not from a centralized marketing department but from within each product group. Product Marketing Managers need to be assisted with varying levels of support and expertise.

    The solution:

Brill Street provides a consistent source of on-call talent to write copy, create presentations and help plan and launch new products and programs. Brill Streeters serve in multiple product groups at different times, carrying with them a built-in awareness of corporate positioning, standards and culture.

  • Seasonal Project — Accounting

    The situation:

Accounting firms face an inevitable crush during the first quarter run-up to the tax filing deadline. It is particularly challenging for small to medium-size firms that have significant client loads, but lack sufficient resources to recruit on campus for their seasonal needs.

    The solution:

In the fall preceding tax season, Brill Street pre-recruited a "deep bench" of accounting majors from top programs. By the start of tax season, all were placed — and the client satisfaction level was so high that 50% were either hired for continuing part-time work or as full-time employees following graduation.

  • Summer Internship — Investment Management

    The situation:

A boutique investment management company needed immediate research and analysis support for its senior Investment Analysts - support that could hit the ground running.

    The solution:

We placed a finance major with the firm as an Associate Analyst for 20 hours a week during her senior year. The client was so pleased with the quality of work that, still during the internship, they offered a full-time position to this Brill Streeter. She entered the firm immediately upon graduations — as a full-fledged Analyst.

  • Start-Up SWAT Team — Healthcare

    The situation:

The CEO, and sole full-time employee of a newly funded healthcare start-up, needed immediate marketing support to launch the business.

    The solution:

Brill Street identified two grad students with significant previous professional experience in public relations and communications. Working with methodologies supplied by Brill Street, they developed the company name and initial marketing plan.

  • Fully Managed Outsource — Engineered Materials

    The situation:

A $1.5 billion a year, publicly traded company needed to study the feasibility of entering a new, and highly technical, segment of the automotive market. The proposal from its strategic consulting firm was too expensive. The results from its in-house study were deemed insufficient. Management came to Brill Street not with a project description and positions to fill, but with a question: Can you completely manage this feasibility study, from planning through execution and reporting?

    The solution:

We put together a very focused project team: one of our Principals as active Project Director, a seasoned Brill Streeter as the team leader and three of her hand-picked classmates - all honors marketing majors at a leading university - as researchers. During the three month project they performed extensive primary and secondary research, including hundreds of interviews, developed an in-depth data-base and produced a final report, including results and recommendations, which our Principal and Team Leader presented to senior management. Based on those recommendations (delivered at a significant savings to the client), the company has successfully entered this new market segment.
